2023 Chevrolet Silverado Comparison Highlights
The 2023 Chevrolet Silverado also tops the list of America’s best-selling trucks, and it’s easy to see why with its sporty styling and innovative functionality. Plus, with three cab sizes and two bed lengths to choose from, along with trims spanning from luxury to off-road, “versatility” is practically Silverado’s middle name.
The Silverado is currently offered in nine models, each with its unique appeal and balance of ruggedness and sportiness. The 2023 model year also introduces extreme off-road performance in the form of the first-ever Silverado ZR2 Bison Edition, coming later this year.
Power is delivered in the form of four engine types, including a Duramax 3.0-liter Turbo-Diesel I6, and can be paired with either a 2WD or 4WD drivetrain. It’s worth noting, though, that the Silverado does not offer a hybrid or all-electric powertrain. But, if it’s torque you’re after, the Duramax diesel engine produces 495 lb-ft of low-end oomph.
Ample amounts of horsepower – up to 420 HP with the 6.2-liter V8 – are transferred to the axles via an 8-speed or 10-speed automatic transmission, and when properly equipped, the Silverado has a max trailering capacity of up to 13,300 pounds for both 2WD and 4WD configurations.
And while this brute strength is impressive, the Silverado also excels at finesse with features like the available Multi-Flex Tailgate which can transform in six different ways to assist with loading, step-in, or cargo management. Adding powered up/down functionality to the tailgate is also an option, making it easy to take advantage of the best-in-class 89.1 cubic feet of standard cargo volume.
This sophistication also finds its way into the cabin area, where premium materials and lots of technologies make your time behind the wheel much more comfortable. With over 25 combined diagonal inches of digital displays and Google built-in, staying connected has never been easier. Simply say “Hey Google” to activate Google Assistant and then naturally make a request, like calling a friend, adjusting climate controls, locating points of interest, and much more.
As the headquarters for your on-site work operations, the Silverado’s interior is roomy and uncluttered, but it can also be your home away from home as the High Country model delivers luxurious appointments like real wood trim and Ares leather seating surfaces.
Every Silverado model comes standard with a suite of advanced safety features thanks to Chevy Safety Assist, and select models can be upgraded with enhanced trailering safety equipment like eight cameras, trailer sway control, hill start assist, and auto grade braking. The available Super Cruise technology also adds hands-free driving on compatible highways, and even supports trailering.
