The Silverado 2500HD is Chevrolets entry in the heavy duty truck arena. It offers greater towing and hauling power than its regular sized sibling, the Silverado 1500. The 2022 edition uses the same body style introduced in 2020. This year this popular truck only receives minor updates, with such as the versatile Multi-Flex tailgate - now available on all trim levels. There is a new exterior color available this year (Greenstone Metallic), and power seats will be available on custom trims later in the season. The 2500HD remains a workhorse of a truck and will be available in multiple trim and cabin configurations such as regular cab, double cab, and crew cab. 4WD will be available and buyers will be able to choose from two different powertrains, a 6.6L V-8 gas engine, and a 6.6L Duramax turbo-diesel. When properly configured the 2500HD can haul upwards of 3,979 LBS (gas) and tow up to 18,500 LBS (diesel).
The Silverado 2500HD is a workhorse of a truck. The interior quality and functionality varies depending on the trim level and selected options and ranges from the utilitarian Work Truck to the plush High Country trim. Options normally reserved for luxury models such as heated and ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, heated steering wheel, heads-up display (HUD) and more can be found in the 2500 lineup. All models feature large interior storage and have options for additional storage space under the back seat and bins built into the the backs of the rear seat cushions.
Every 2500 comes with a touchscreen infotainment center with full support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Available options on select trims include a 8 inch touchscreen, a seven screen Bose sound system, WiFi hotspot, wireless charging, and additional power ports.
Regardless of the trim chosen, drivers can feel protected by a host of driver assistance and safety features. There are also towing assistance cameras and a 'transparent mode' that gives the driver the ability to virtually see through the trailer. Additional available features include forward-collision warning and automated emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert, and lane-departure warning.

Although, a modern truck like the Silverado 2500 can haul more than that although the name still applies. A truck's tonnage is still widely used to broadly group truck sizes. To sum it up the Silverado 1500 is a 1/2 ton, the 2500HD is a 3/4 ton, and the 3500 is a one ton truck.
Q - What is the best Silverado 2500 truck? A - Best can be subjective depending on the job that needs doing. The Silverado 2500HD comes in five trim levels, five cabin configurations, two engine sizes, and the option between rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive, which means that drivers can customize their truck just the way they need it. If more power is required then the Silverado 3500 is a great upgrade option.
Q - What is different on the 2022 Silverado 2500HD? A - Chevy largely kept to the same successful mold for the 2022 model. Q - What engine sizes are available on the 2022 Silverado 2500? A - Truck buyers have the option of choosing between a 6.6 liter V-8 gas powered engine that produces 401 hp and 464 lb-ft of torque and a Duramax 6.6 liter turbo-diesel V-8 that produces 445 hp and 910 lb-ft of torque.
